SEEDS–BiT-RG Joint Summer School 2026 on “Behavioral Economics for Sustainability Transitions”: Call for Applications
The second edition of the SEEDS–BiT-RG Joint Summer School on “Behavioral Economics for Sustainability Transitions” will take place on 24–26 September 2026 at Unitelma Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). The Summer School is supported by EAERE.
The Summer School brings together early-career researchers and leading international scholars working at the intersection of behavioral economics and sustainability science. The 2026 edition places a special focus on Artificial Intelligence, exploring how AI is reshaping the tools and methods available to behavioral researchers and policymakers addressing sustainability challenges. Topics include digital and AI-based nudging, algorithmic decision-support systems, machine learning applications in behavioral research, and the ethical and distributional implications of AI in policy design.
The programme features lectures, keynote talks, and interactive sessions led by leading international scholars, alongside a dedicated session for selected participants to present their ongoing research and receive structured feedback from senior researchers. A Best Paper Award of €1,000 will be awarded to the most outstanding research presentation by a PhD student.
The Summer School is open to a maximum of 45 PhD students and early-career researchers in economics, behavioural science, sustainability science, public policy, and related disciplines. A limited number of fee waivers will be available for presenting PhD students based on the quality of their abstracts.

Participation
