AERE - Association of Environmental and Resource Economists
The Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (AERE) was established as a means of exchanging ideas, stimulating research, and promoting graduate training in resource and environmental economics. AERE provides many forums for exchanging ideas relevant to the allocation and management of natural and environmental resources and has two journals, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management (JEEM), and the Review of Environmental Economics and Policy (REEP), and a newsletter issued to members twice a year.

AERNA - Asociacion Hispano Portuguesa de Economia de los Recursos Naturales y Ambientales
The Spanish-Portuguese Association of Natural Resources and Environmental Economics (AERNA) was founded in 2002 as a response to the motivation of a group of academics and researchers in the Iberian Peninsula, for exchanging ideas and knowledge, stimulating research and supporting the goverment and other interested groups decissions on the field of the multiple relations between economics and environment. Nowadays, AERNA is joined by more than 102 active members of Spanish and Portuguese practitioners within the framework of Natural Resources and Environmental Economics.

Beijer International Institure of Ecological Economics, Sweden
The Beijer Institute is an international research institute under the auspices of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The goal of the Beijer Institute is to foster interdisciplinary activities among natural and social scientists, in order to deepen understanding of the interactions between humans and nature, and to inform management of our common environment. The Institute seeks to realize this goal through a variety of activities, including research and training programs, seminars and conferences, and publications aimed both at the general public and the scientific community.

Climate ChangeS
Climate ChangeS is a frequently updated web-site with the latest and most interesting working papers on the Economics of Climate Change. The literature on the Economics of Climate Change is growing at an unprecedented rate and it is becoming increasingly harder for researchers to keep the pace with new advancements of their discipline. Climate ChangeS is a web-site created to bridge this knowledge gap by providing researchers with a timely and accurate update of new research papers. On a weekly basis, links to the most recent and interesting working papers on the Economics of Climate Change are aggregated from a variety of sources for easy and convenient reference. The focus is on research at the frontier, with most contributions appearing just a few days after having been released. For this reason, journal articles are not tracked. Climate ChangeS has been designed for researchers in the field, mainly economists, but policy experts and specialized journalists alike will find it a useful tool to gain wide, timely and easy exposure to the developments of the discipline.

EEPSEA - The Economy and Environment Program for Southeast Asia
EEPSEA is similar to SANDEE and supports training and research in environmental & resource economics in South East Asia. This web site offers downloadable Research reports on issues relevant to developing countries.

Encyclopedia of Earth
Encyclopedia of Earth is a new electronic reference about the Earth, its natural environments, and their interaction with society. The Encyclopedia is a free, fully searchable collection of articles written by scholars, professionals, educators, and experts who collaborate and review each other's work. The articles are written in non-technical language and will be useful to students, educators, scholars, professionals, as well as to the general public.

Environment Agency, UK
It is the leading public body for protecting and improving the environment in England and Wales. Has got offices across England and Wales working on carrying out Government policy, inspecting and regulating businesses and reacting when there is an emergency such as a flood or pollution incident.

Environmental Economics Unit at Göteborg University, Sweden
EEU is a research and teaching unit within the Göteborg University with 12 PhDs and 20 graduate students working on various projects related to natural resources and environmental economics. EEU specializes in environmental economics research and training. The research is focused on natural resource management in developing countries, the choice of policy instruments for transport, industrial environmental problems and welfare relatedissues.

EfD - Environment for Development
The Environment for Development (EfD) initiative is an environmental economics program focused on international research collaboration, policy advice and academic training. It supports centers in Central America, China, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, and Tanzania in partnership with the Environmental Economics Unit at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden and Resources for the Future in Washington D.C. Financial support for the program is provided by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). The overall objective of the EfD initiative is to support poverty alleviation and sustainable development, through increased use of environmental economics in the policy making process.

FEEM - Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei
The Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) is a no-profit, no-partisan research institution established to carry out research in the field of sustainable development.
Recognised by the President of the Italian Republic in July 1989, it has since become a leading international research centre.
One of its principal aims is to promote interaction between academic, industrial and public policy spheres in order to comprehensively address concerns about economic development and environmental degradation.

GEVAD a new free on-line environmental valuation database
GEVAD aims to facilitate the application of environmental economics in decision-making processes using the benefits transfer approach. About 1,400 studies were reviewed and, finally, more than 300 recent studies, mainly European, were registered. The studies, the valuation method used, the main author and the country of the “study site”, can be searched through a user-friendly environment. The database includes a tool for adjusting the transferred values in order to offset influences concerning differences of price level and time between the “study” and the “policy” site. Thus, EAERE members and other environmental valuation experts are mostly welcome to submit studies to be included in GEVAD through the “Submit a study” page. In addition, they are encouraged to send their comments at gevad@metal.ntua.gr.

Globalisation and the Environment
A dedicated website for academic research into economic aspects of the globalisation and the environment debate. And a place to find news, research and discussion on economic issues related to the impact of globalisation on the environment. The research project is led by Dr Matthew A. Cole and Dr Robert J.R. Elliott of the University of Birmingham, UK, and funded by the Leverhulme Trust and the ESRC.

Ikerbasque
Ikerbasque, the government granted Basque Foundation for Science will establish a new centre for research on climate change. The Centre will be based in Bilbao within a university setting but with an independent management and operational structure. It will start activities in 2008. The main areas of focus will be interdisciplinary basic research on physical climate modelling, intregrated climate modelling, the analysis of mitigation and vulnerability and adaptation, and the study of alternative methods of international cooperation in this area.

ISEE - International Society for Ecological Economics
The International Society for Ecological Economics facilitates understanding between Economists and ecologist and the integration of their thinking into a trans-discipline aimed at developing a sustainable world.

LACEEP - Latin American and Caribbean Environmental Economics Program
The Latin American and Caribbean Environmental Economics Program (LACEEP) was launched on July 1 with a grant from IDRC. The program will operate in ways similar to EEPSEA and its South Asian counterpart SANDEE, offering research awards, short courses, workshops and mentoring.

MENANEE - Middle East and North Africa Network for Environmental Economists
The Middle East and North Africa Network for Environmental Economics (MENANEE) is a joint venture between the Beijer Institute of Resource Economics and the Library of Alexandria and now considered as a regional network that aims at strengthening the capacity of individuals and institutions in the region in the field of environmental and resources economics.
It also intends to highlight to policy and decisions-makers the linkages between economic development and environmental changes.

RANESA - Resource Accounting Network for Eastern and Southern Africa
RANESA was established in 1998 to support capacity in sustainable development planning and integrated economic and environmental management and policy design in Sub-Saharan Africa. This network is coordinated by the Center for Environmental Economics and Policy at the University of Pretoria, While the main focus of RANESA is Natural Resource Accounting, its group of environmental economists engage in a wide-range of interesting research.

SANDEE - South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics
SANDEE is a regional network that seeks to bring together analysts from different countries in South Asia to address its development-environment problems. SANDEE's mission is to strengthen the capacity of individuals and institutions in South Asia to undertake research on the inter-linkages among economic development, poverty, and environmental change and to disseminate practical information that can be applied to development policies.

SEEPS - Society for Environmental Economics and Policy Studies
The Society for Environmental Economics and Policy Studies (SEEPS) is a scientific association which aims: to contribute to the theoretical and empirical research of environmental economics and policy studies; to improve communication and contacts between teachers, researchers and students in environmental economics and policy studies; to promote international scientific cooperation in environmental economics and policy studies.

UKNEE, the UK Network of Environmental Economists
UKNEE, the UK Network of Environmental Economists, aims to bring together environmental economists from academia, consultancy and public and private sectors to foster closer relationships, follow recent developments and share experience. UKNEE organises regular seminars on topical subjects in environmental economics followed by social evenings.

The Center for Thematic Environmental Networks (TEN) is a Center for education and research in the fields of environment and sustainable development.TEN Center promotes the exchange of knowledge and information on the environmental.

Virtual Resource Centre on Green Accounting - UNEP's Economics and Trade Branch
This centre provides a searchable database of various materials and Internet links related to integrated environmental and economic accounting, also known as green accounting. It supports the objectives and programme of work of the UN Committee of Experts on Environmental-Economic Accounting (UNCEEA).
